BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN employee of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority has been slapped with charges of dishonesty after she allegedly forged a number of documents.
SKNVibes was reliably informed that Patricia Westcott of Ocean Gardens was arrested by police on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 on suspicion that she, as the Finance Officer for the institution, wrote a number of cheques payable to herself.
Information reaching this media house suggests that Wescott is believed to have forged in excess of 10 cheques, the total of which extend into the tens of thousands. Reliably informed, this media house understands that Westcott allegedly forged the signatures of the signatories on the cheques.
Her application for bail made over the last couple of days was granted by a magistrate and Westcott was released from police custody.
She is expected to appear before the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court shortly to answer to the charges.
Investigations into the occurrences are ongoing.
