The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) in its effort to show Nevisians why the party’s candidates are better suited to represent the island in the Federal parliament is continuing to preach the message of performance while in power.

Hon. Patrice Nisbett, the NRP’s candidate for Nevis 11 (St. James/St. Paul’s), said on Friday’s nomination day that the message is one that the people understands, that his party has created the necessary opportunities for them in the various areas.

According to Hon. Nisbett if the people want that work to continue then the NRP is the only choice.

“We are the voice that can speak on behalf of the people in Nevis in Basseterre because we are the government in Nevis. The people will listen to who are in charge of the affairs of Nevis. Those who are not in the government cannot advance the cause of the people of Nevis.”

Hon. Nisbett, who holds the only NRP seat in the Federal parliament, said for the progress of the last three years to be nurtured it is time for the hand of the government to be strengthened in the National Assembly.

“…we ask the people to strengthen our hand in the National Assembly so as to ensure we get the support of the Federal authorities on the various programs and initiatives that can advance the people of Nevis.”

The Legal Advisor for the Nevis Island Administration was nominated at the New Castle Police Station, while his counterparts – Hon. Hensley Daniel and Patricia Hanley, the candidates for Nevis 9 (St. Paul’s/St. John’s) and Nevis 10 (St. George’s), were nominated at the Charlestown Magistrate’s Court and the Gingerland Police Station respectively.
