ROSEAU, Dominica – WHICH of the seven beauties vying for the Dominca Carnival Queen title for this year will come out on top?
The contestants for the 2010 pageant are Clarissa Nicholls of Carib Territory, Marcia Baptiste of Portsmouth, Kristelle Fagan of Kings Hill, Valdie De Jean of Morne Prosper representing Roseau, Shama St. Hilaire of Pichelin/Grand Bay, Dana Augustine of Paix Bouche, and Amy Polydore of Riviere Cyrique.
The Carnival Queen Pageant is scheduled for February 12.
The awards up for grabs are the Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Best in Carnival Costume and Best Carnival Costume, Best in Swim Wear, Best in Evening Gown, Best Response in the Q&A, Best Evening Gown and Best Performing Talent.
The 2009 Queen, Kayan Toussaint of Pointe Michele, will take her final walk as queen that night.
