ROSEAU Dominica- THE 2010 Dominica Carnival will be officially launched on Saturday, January 23.
According to Caivideos.com, the Carnival is scheduled to last for two weeks and events include the Junior Calypso Monarch slated for Friday (Jan. 29), Calypso Semi-Finals on Saturday (Jan. 30) and the Princess Pageant will be held on the following day.
The Miss teenage Pageant will be held on February 7 and will be followed by the much-anticipated Miss Dominica Pageant, which will see seven beautiful and intelligent young ladies vying for the title on February 12.
On February 13, the ‘big guns’ will start firing at the Calypso Finals, which will be followed by the Kiddies Old Mass with the children adding their flavor to the Carnival.
According to one media outlet, Dominica’s Carnival is known to be the most original in the Caribbean and it takes you around the island from Pottersville Savannah through the streets of Roseau to Festival City.
