(Labour Secretariat): The St.Kitts/ Nevis Labour Party candidate for Constituency #2, Marcella Liburd said she has sought legal action against the People's Action Movement (PAM) and its false accusations involving her family's finances.
"I want to make it abundantly clear that all these accusations are downright false, downright lies....," she said at a public area meeting held at Upper Market Street on Monday night (January, 18th).
She added: "I want to make it clear that I have already instructed my lawyers."
According to her PAM is attempting to throw her off course in the race leading up to the General Elections by using such false accusations.
"I want you to know that the only thing they think they could stop me with is that. They know that they are going to lose the elections and so they are trying to find something to say. But I want you to know that I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of ," she said.
Liburd continued: "I'm staying on course because they want to take me off course. They are barking up the wrong tree because they know for me it's like chalk and cheese."
She conveyed to voters that her main focus is on the development of St.Kitts and Nevis in her bid to become an elected parliamentarian, assuring all that she "will continue with the issues that are relevant to the people of this country."
