BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – An Island-wide motorcade, an appearance by Barbados’ Red Plastic Bag, a star-studded Rally and the Grand Finale are on the cards for the final weekend of campaigning before next Monday’s general election.
General Secretary of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, Ms. Wanda Connor said Special Guest Artiste Red Plastic Bag with his “Something is happening” will appear at a National Election Rally on Friday evening (January 22nd) at CARIFESTA Village, at 8 ‘o’ clock.
She said a Local Area meeting to elect Dr. Norgen Wilson, is set for Saturday January 23rd at 9 A.M. at Fig Tree, Sandy Point.
The Island-wide motorcade, led by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader begins at 11 A.M. on Saturday leaving from Port Zante via Fort Street, Cayon Street, Pond Road, Airport Road, Taylors Range, St. Peter’s, on to the F. T. Williams Highway, Old Road, Sandy Point, St. Paul’s, Cayon and on the Island Main Road and return to Basseterre.
The Rally at Warner Park on Saturday Night, at 8 ‘o’ clock, will feature addresses by several Labour Party candidates including Prime Minister Douglas. The line-up includes performances by Morgan Heritage, Busy Signal, Nu Vybes, Konris Maynard, Light Out Band and Kollision Band.
The Grand Finale – the final campaign rally is carded for Green Tree, Old Road at 8 p.m. on Sunday January 24th.
Friday afternoon there was a Whistle Stop on the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site and a Walk-thru and Public Meeting in Central Basseterre.
