Dr. Timothy Harris
Non-National Press Release

MOLINEUX, St. Kitts, January 23, 2010 - A number of non-nationals living in St. Kitts and Nevis have praised the level of assistance being provided by Dr. Timothy Harris to facilitate them remaining in the Federation.

Several non-nationals who reside in Constituency Seven, primarily from Jamaica, Guyana and Santo Dominica, have acknowledged the work and contributions of Dr. Harris in fighting their cause.

Speaking recently to the media, they recalled that Dr. Harris has been championing their cause in order for them to be provided opportunities in the federation to enhance their economic standard.

They pointed out that Dr. Harris has been very instrumental in playing a leading role in ensuring their presence. They also stressed that the contributions and work being done by the Parliamentary Representative is worthy of commendation, dubbing him as a tireless champion for the cause of nationals and non-nationals.

They said that he made his mark by ensuring fair opportunities are distributed to all regardless of one’s political affiliation. They added that since assuming the responsibilities of Parliamentary Representative, Dr. Harris has successfully ended what many described as years of significant victimization and discrimination by the former administration to people within his Constituency, who openly had not supported the government of the day.

“Dr Harris has sought to bridge the differences between the Labour Party and PAM supporters. And as the Parliamentary Representative he has done an excellent job and nationals and non-nationals alike are exceptionally impressed with the level of leadership he has provided and continues to provide over the years,” a  non-national was quoted as saying.

The non-national added that the leadership of the Parliamentary Representative, who is seeking another term, has provided courageous support and inspired leadership in finding solutions for the many challenges and difficulties within his Constituency over the years.

Another non-national said that she wished to place on record the very deep and sincere appreciation of non-nationals who, through the timely assistance of Dr. Harris, have been able to live and work in St. Kitts and Nevis. She further said that his sterling service to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis should not go unnoticed and unrewarded.

They claimed that many outstanding non-nationals, who have made St. Kitts and Nevis their home, have praised and thanked Dr. Harris for his services to the federation, adding that he has been one of the greatest champions for regional integration.

They also declared that giving him another term to continue his contributions to growth and development is worthwhile and should be seriously considered by all.
