BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE new price for a 94-pound bag of cement is now $19.64.
This announcement was recently made by the incumbent Minister of International Trade, Industry and Commerce, the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, who said that the new price is with immediate effect.
Dr. Harris said that in a letter to the Managing Director of TDC, Michael Morton, he announced that his ministry was willing to offer the commodity at its new price to consumers.
According to Dr Harris, the price discount is being applied across the board so that at every level of construction activity - domestic, commercial, and public works - there would be benefits to be gained.
“These are difficult economic times all over the world and it is important that my government continue to stimulate development. The new price discount will help to stimulate activity as we continue our very busy construction period here in St. Kitts and Nevis,” Dr Harris said.
The incumbent International Trade Minister said he hopes that people would maximise the growing opportunities being created by his administration in an attempt to assist in reducing the cost of living nation-wide.
