BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ANDRE ROBLEY, who once resided in St. Kitts and is currently pursuing a professional career as a singer, made his debut performance last night (Jan. 27) on BET’s 106 & Park’s programme.

The show was dubbed ‘Wild Out Wednesday’ and is aimed at providing competitors the opportunity to compete in song and dance for prizes.

Robley is an R&B, Pop, Alternative, Soul and Caribbean Contemporary singer. He was born on December 14, 1984 in Suriname but grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten.

He has coined his unique style as ‘Caribbean Lounge’; a fusion of essential sounds of contemporary music. He is currently working on his debut album which will be released sometime this year and has already filmed his first music video and released it along with two singles, ‘Special Touch’ and ‘Magic’.

“My lyrics come from a place deep within. I’m truly concerned about being a modern day knight in shinning armor who preserves truth against ‘evil dragons’ out there. It’s the reason I write most of my music…to ensure the inclusion of that perspective on things which often appears to be missing on the radio and in the music videos.

“Morality, in particular, is being reserved out there. Does anybody know why? As an artiste I consider myself accountable for what I craft. Above all things my rhythms and vibe have to reach, teach, inspire and empower, even while they make you bob your head or cry to what you hear. As a singer/producer/song writer, it only makes sense to put your best forward.”

After performing 'Do What You Do', viewers were asked to vote for the artiste via live voting on www.bet.com to choose him as the winner.

Robley attended the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Cayon High and Basseterre High School while living in St. Kitts.

After his performance he posted the following on his facebook page:

"Hey everybody... I Felt the love! I couldn't have made it through without you all. You let them know we don't back down from competition! We stand up and represent! Blessings and best regards to you all. Guess what? The producer of the show is coming to SXM! Roxie so sweet, says she's been here to SXM and its her fav in... the Caribbean!!! Don't worry about the votes. the experience was 100% Golden! Congrats to A.J."
