    Monday, January 25 – The upcoming Farmers’ Week 2010 Agricultural Exhibition will be the focus of the Department of Information and Public Relations’ live Public Eye programme on Tuesday, January 26 at 7 p. m. on ZBVI Radio and CBN Channel 51.
     
    Chief Agricultural Officer Mr. Bevin Brathwaite, Deputy Chief Agricultural Officer Mrs. Arona Fahie-Forbes and other staff from the Department of Agriculture will be among the panellists.  Speaking with the Department of Information and Public Relations Mr. Bevin Brathwaite highlighted an event for this year’s exhibition.
     
    “This year’s exhibition promises to be more educational as more training resources will be available for the farmers.  Additional technical staff is now on board at the department and we see this opening many doors for the continued growth of the agricultural sector,” Mr. Brathwaite said.
     
    He also said “Farmers are important to the Territory and each year the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour and the Department of Agriculture use Farmers’ Week to highlight the work of local farmers throughout the Territory.”
     
    Farmers’ Week will be observed from February 5–12, under the theme, Step Away from Traditional Dependency.  Open Your Arms to Agricultural Technology.
