Sizzla awaiting fate behind bars

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A dark cloud seems to be hovering over Jamaican artistes as a number of them have been running into trouble with the law in recent months.

The most recent is Reggae sensation Sizzla, who is currently behind bars awaiting results from a forensic test to find out if he was involved in a shooting incident.

According to 876radio, the police report states that a barrage of gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the Judgment Yard area of August Town which led police personnel to swoop down on the community and arrest Miguel Collin, better known as Sizzla Kolonji.

The media house further stated that Sizzla was taken into custody and his hands swabbed for gun powder residue to find out if he were involved in the shooting incident.

This comes at a bad time for the singer as he is currently promoting his new album ‘Crucial Times’, which was released on January 25.

Thirteen tracks make up the album of which includes ‘Take A Stand’, ‘Rat Race’, ‘Foundation’, ‘Progress’ and the title track. Crucial Times is described as more of a compilation than album, in that it showcases the many moods of Sizzla rather than being a streamlined listening experience.
