The Executive of the St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA) is very much cognizant of the fact that that early preparation and planning for 2008 Carifta Games in our twin island Federation is paramount.
Presently in training is a squad of some seventy (70) athletes who are hopefuls for the "08 Carifta Team.
Selection to the "08 Carifta Team is based on the athletes performances at the Development Meets, Inter School Championship, Leeward Islands Youth and Juniors Championships in the preceding years.
In other to sensitize the squad the management committee convened a meeting on Monday 20th March, 2006 at the Basseterre High School Auditorium with the athletes and parents of the hopefuls.
Attending the meeting were Team Manager Mr Anthony Wiltshire, Coaches Coordinator Mr Lonzo Wilkinson and Coach Stewart Joseph.
Also in attendance were Dr. Patrick Martin, who spoke to the athletes and parents of the importance of proper nutrition as it relates to the athlete and1stVice President of the SKNAAA Mr Lester Hanley who informed the gathering of what is expected of the parents and athletes in the lead-up to the championships and games.
