RoadTown, Tortola, VI – In his update to the House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands, Minister for Communications and Works, Hon. Julian Fraser RA gave a progress report on the Sabbath Hill Reservoir on Tortola. The Water and Sewerage Department is now pleased to announce that this project is completed -- ahead of schedule. The project’s originally scheduled completion date was mid-February, 2010.

Despite the setbacks experienced over the past few months, the Water and Sewerage Department is now advising its customers that the Sabbath Hill Reservoir is fully operational.  The repairs that were done were necessary to facilitate the repair of the slab at the Sabbath Hill Reservoir, which was experiencing serious leakage. The $45,000 project was completed by Florida Aquastore and Utility Conctruction Inc.

The Honourable Minister expressed his satisfaction with the early completion and thanked the Water and Sewerage Department for their commitment to the fulfilment of this project.

The Water and Sewerage Department takes this opportunity to say thanks to our customers particularly in the areas of Josiahs Bay, The Ridge Road, Harrigan and Upper Cane Garden Bay for your patience, cooperation and understanding. The Water and Sewerage Department’s mission is to provide a continuous supply of safe potable water to all Virgin Islands residents.
