BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 5th 2010 (PAM Secretariat) - The East Basseterre Young Pamites wish to express sincere appreciation to our Hero Mr. Glenroy "FRESH FACE" Blanchette for his sacrifice, effort and hard work on behalf of the people of East Basseterre.
Although the published polls say otherwise, we know that the people of East Basseterre were fully ready to be represented by a man of the utmost integrity, principle, humility and decency.
They were ready for a man who has worked for the East Basseterre Community his entire life, a true gentleman and family man who epitomises the motto "COUNTRY ABOVE SELF".
The people of East Basseterre were ready to be represented for the first time in history by someone who was actually born and bred in East Basseterre and who is genuinely committed to enhancing the quality of life for those in his community.
Words cannot express how exceptionally proud we are to have worked with Glenroy in his exemplary campaign. Though he faced dirty attacks from his opponent, he persistently conducted himself respectably and stuck on the message of change, empowerment and long-term prosperity for East Basseterre. Though his opponent refused to accept his challenges to debate on the issues any time, any place, Glenroy continued to exude the statesmanlike, intelligent leadership that East Basseterre so desperately lacks in the current representative.
Though his opponent's party allegedly manipulated and corrupted the electoral system in order to claim victory, Glenroy consistenly fought a clean, transparent and honest fight. They may claim the victory, but we never lost our dignity. And for that reason, Glenroy Blanchette will always be our winner.
Young warriors from the East. Young Warriors for Peace, Equal Rights, Justice and More Money in our pockets! And we are confident that very soon, the will of the people will be thwarted no more, and we WILL take back the East from the Beast!
