(Kingston, Jamaica) - This year's 'Magnum Follow Di Arrow' promises to be nothing short of electric. Not only has the show, which has in previous years been closely affiliated with the Alliance stepped away from that image by contracting ace-deejay and the Gaza Empire's leading man, Vybz Kartel, but a number of Dancehall/Reggae's top entertainers have also been slated to perform at the event.
The event which will be staged at the James Bond Beach, St. Mary on Saturday, February 27 features the likes of Mavado, Bounty Killer, KipRich, Sizzla Kalonji, Merciless, Mr. Vegas, Stacious, Pamputae, Twin of Twins, Lisa Hyper, Macka Diamond, Assassin, Face, Tiki, Anthony B and more.
In reference to Vybz Kartel's debut performance at Magnum Follow Di Arrow, promoter Dexton Ennis says, "Magnum Follow Di Arrow is about uniting the music, yes sometimes we will have musical clashes to show the skills of the artistes and that they can think quickly on the spot and have some great lyrical comebacks, but the show is also about showcasing all the sides of the artistes no matter where they are from: whether it's Alliance, Gully, Gaza or Plaza.
This year Kartel is going to be on the show and I'm expecting a great performance from him in addition to the members of the Alliance. This show is about entertaining the fans with the best artistes in the industry at a great price."
Another great feature of this year's show will be the giveaways from the title sponsor, Magnum Tonic Wine. The brand which has become an undeniable staple in the Dancehall/Reggae industry, stays true to its consumers and will be giving away $10, 000 to lucky patrons every hour and 10 minutes.
Ennis says, "We are encouraging everyone to come out early and enjoy everything we have in store for them. We went all out with the prizes to be won and the artistes on the line-up. As the first major Dancehall event for the year we can promise people they will be getting the best."
