CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POLICE are currently investigating the murder of a male Vincentian that took place shortly before 10 o’clock last night (Feb. 9) on Nevis.

Reports reaching SKNVibes states that the 31-year-old Wesley Trimmingham, who was residing in Brown Hill and sometimes slept at his employer’s home in Bath Village, was shot multiple times to the body.

Information concerning his death was confirmed by Inspector Andre Mitchell of the Nevis Division of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, who said the shooting death took place within the vicinity of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Ramsbury and investigations are ongoing.

SKNVibes however learned that earlier in the night, Trimmingham was imbibing with a friend at a bar in Craddock Road, Charlestown. They left that bar and went to another but the deceased abstained from further consumption and decided to make his way home to Brown Hill.

Trimmingham's drinking companion said he gave him EC$20 to catch a bus and told him that he would see him in the morning. However, shortly after his departure, the companion said he heard a number of shots being fired. On investigation, he saw the Vincentian lying on the ground opposite LEFCO Apartments bleeding from about seven gunshot wounds to his lower back.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by Dr. Chandy Jacobs and the body was removed by Hunkins Funeral Home.

Trimmingham's death has taken the number of murders committed in the twin-island Federation for the year to four; three in Nevis and one in St. Kitts.

The first murder occurred on New Year’s morn shortly after 6:00, when 26-year-old Keithon Stanley of Cole Hill was killed execution-style within a building in Craddock Road, Charlestown, Nevis.

Just one week later (Jan. 7), 23-year-old Kimoy ‘Pudding’ Powell of Bath Village, Nevis (originally from Irishtown, St. Kitts) was shot multiple times at Crosses Alley in Charlestown. He succumbed to his injuries at the Alexandra Hospital.

And on St. Kitts, 32-year-old Maxwell ‘Mad Max’ Chumney was killed while in the yard of his of West Street, Newtown home on Wednesday, January 20. He was shot twice, and one of the bullet wounds was visible on the left side of his head.

No one has yet been charged in relation to these murders but, according to the police, investigations are ongoing.
