BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- ARE you looking for a way to ask that special someone to be your valentine? Then why not do so with local artiste I.T.Y.C’s new single ‘Cud U B My Valentine’.
According to the hot young rap artist, whose real name is Talvert Clarke, “I wanted to bring something different to the table following my last single ‘Wear Your Crown’, which was more street oriented.”
The song, which is self written and carries the chorus “I never had a girl like you, look so fine, well shaped, got a lot of beauty/Can I have a word with you/all am asking you is ‘Cud U B My Valentine’?”, also features a music video that premiered last night (Feb. 10) on PEP TV.
Another young and upcoming local artiste, Marshall C, adds his smooth and melodious voice on the chorus of the track. His addition to the song has helped to make it a hit with the ladies, not only for this coming Valentine’s Day but also as an ideal love experience year-round.
In the video, I.T.Y.C shares his interest in a beautiful young lady played by Kimberly Ward as he tries to pursue her and ask her to be his Valentine.
I.T.Y.C said the song is the first one he ever did for a female audience and there would be a follow up song titled ‘Don’t Take Your Love Away’ soon.
The video was done by SKNVibes’ very own Nigel Lewis of Tru Capo Productions, while the song was recorded at SKNE Studios.
I.T.Y.C gave a special mention and thanks to the Ballahoo Restaurant in downtown Basseterre for allowing him to shoot a portion of the video there.
