BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - GRAMPS MORGAN of reggae group Morgan Heritage is currently up for five nominations in the 2010 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
IRAWMA is presently at its 29th staging and will be held this year at the York College Performing Arts Center in Queens, New York on May 2.
Gramps five nominations are Best Song for his hit ‘Wash the Tears’, Best Male Vocalist, Best Crossover Song for his hit single ‘Therapy’ done with Soul songstress India Arie, Best New Entertainer and Songwriter of the Year.
Apart from being nominated for these awards, the singer will also be performing at the award ceremony. He was one of the lead vocalists in Morgan Heritage, however, sometime last year he embarked on a solo career and has since released his first album ‘2 Sides of My Heart Vol.1’.
Earlier this month, Gramps received an award for Album of the Year at the Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (EME).
