Two shot on Nevis, two also on St. Kitts

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO men on Nevis are currently nursing gunshot wounds at the Alexandra Hospital while two more were treated for a similar wounds at the Pogson Medical Centre in Sandy Point and the JNF Hospital.

     

    According to police reports, at about 9:00 last night (Feb. 19), Kelvis Matthew of Saddlers Village was shot in his leg in that Village in the vicinity of the Bradshaw Centre of Attraction (BCA). He was transported to the Pogson Medical Centre, where he was treated for his injury. It is not known if he was discharged or warded at the hospital.

     

    At about the same time last night, Audrington Syder was shot in his arm in Upper Prickly Pear Alley, Basseterre. The 20-year-old, who is said to be residing with his mother Shelia Syder at Wades Garden, was treated for his injury at the JNF Hospital and discharged.

     

    And on sister isle Nevis, Jermaine ‘Chalise’ Freeman of Rawlins Village was shot in the leg, while Travis ‘Gangster Fat’ Hanley of Halfway Tree, St. Kitts was shot in the back. Both men are said to be in the mid-20s.

     

    Information reaching this media house suggested that the two men were shot at about 4:30 this morning following an altercation during a band clash at the Zion Old School Night Spot in Zion Village.

     

    Both men were transported to the Alexandra Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and are in but stable condition.

     

    No suspect has so far been held accountable for these shootings, but police declared that more information would be provided as investigations are ongoing on both islands.
