BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ANOTHER round of the informative Savings and Investment Course is scheduled to begin on St. Kitts this coming Thursday (Feb. 25), and all individuals interested in developing financial savvy are asked to apply as soon as possible.
Organized jointly by Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), University of the West Indies (UWI), the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) and local financial institutions, the course is designed to help persons develop basic budgeting skills, improve their money management skills and learn the fundamentals of investing.
The course runs for ten weeks and is held at the CFBC every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Interested applicants have until this Thursday (Feb. 25) to register and until the following day to pay the EC $100 registration fee.
This will be the twelfth staging of the course and Deputy Director of Corporate Relations at the ECCB, Sybil Welsh, is excited about the prospects for this year’s 10-week course.
“Participants can expect to get practical information; information that they can use from day one. We know that many of them work during the day and so they can expect a fun education. They will be actively engaged and will enjoy the learning process.
“They will also enjoy networking, not only with the business and finance professionals who will be presenting during every session, but also with their friends and other participants,” Welsh told SKNVibes.
The comprehensive courses would give participants the necessary confidence to approach their finances, as well as guidance as it relates to entering financial negotiations and investment agreements.
“Walking away from this course, participants will be financially empowered. They are going to gain the knowledge to be in charge of all their financial matters,” Welsh said.
