BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS the Beach Allen Primary School prepares to host its first ever Mr. & Miss Sports Competition, many students and teachers are positive that their house would emerge champion from among the four competing houses.

The competition is slated for Saturday (Feb. 27) and will be held at Carnival Village. According to Kristy Daniel, a teacher at the school and also a member of the Organising Committee, said the idea to host the event is a collaborative effort by the organisers in keeping with the current sports term.

The four houses that would be represented are Blue, Gold, Green and Red. Monica Daniel and J’Quanne Herbert will be representing Blue House and their sport will be Track and Field, while Gold House will be represented by Levasni Sprouse and Dwaynequa Stephen; their sport will be Football.

The Green House participants are Tremayne Isaac and Wanyaira Woolard, whose sport will be Tennis, while Red House will be represented by Lequana Jacobs and Lequandre Lowrie, and their sport will be Cricket.

The students will be competing in Introductory Speech, Talent, Creative Wear and Sporting Ball Wear, and they will have to perform in cohesion, according to Daniel.

“Things have been going good so far,” said Daniel when asked how has preparations been going. “It seems like there will be some stiff competition on the night.”

The guest artistes for the night include d’Vybz Band, Miss UDC Talented Teen Zinga Imo, Junior Calypso Queen Kerise Willet and Infamus.
