By: Press Release, CaribWorldNews

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. Feb. 15, 2010: The famous 1985 original song `We Are the World` song-, crafted then to support Africa, has been remade to aid the victims of the January 12th quake.

The updated song premiered on Feb. 12th, the one month anniversary of the quake which claimed over 200,000 lives. It features the voices of several famous Hollywood singers, actors and actresses, producers, and rappers, including Haiti`s own Wyclef Jean.

The song was recorded at the Jim Henson studios in Hollywood and apart from Jean, features stars like Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Fergie, Harry Connick Jnr, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Natalie Cole, Nick Jonas, Nicole Scherzinger, Toni Braxton, Usher, Vince Vaughn and Will.i.am.

Several lines in the original lyrics of `We Are The World` were omitted to make it more related to the Haiti situation.

`And their lives will be stronger and free, as God has shown us by turning stones to bread, and so we all must lend a helping hand` was changed to `So their cries for help will not be in vain, we can`t let them suffer, no we cannot turn away, right now they need a helping hand.`

The 2010 version also features Michael Jackson singing a `duet` with his sister Janet in death. Michael is remembered for his significant contributions to the original `We Are the World` tune. It was produced once again by Quincy Jones, with the help of Lionel Richie.
