BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AT Marriott, success begins with our associates. In keeping with these values the St Kitts Marriott Resort held a celebration event to say “Thank You” to those associates for their outstanding performance and significant contributions for 2009. The event took the form of a cocktail reception where nominees were encouraged to invite a partner to celebrate and share their achievements.
The top prize winners in each category were chosen from a team of over (95) ninety –five associates, (62) sixty –two Hourly Associates and (33) thirty –three Supervisors and Managers. These associates were nominated by their managers and peers throughout the year.
The winners in the Associate of the Year category for Hourly Associates were Mr. Shoy Joseph for Heart of the House and Mr. Rudel Foe for Front of the House. There were also prizes for 1st and 2nd runner-up in each category, and those went to Mr. Valentine Heyliger, Ms. Geraldine Gilbert, Ms. Hadiya Mills and Ms. Cherepha Bassue.
In the category for Supervisor of the Year, Ms. Maresia Joseph claimed the top prize with Ms. Olivene Henry and Ms. Valerie Herbert taking the 1st and 2nd runner –up positions. The Manager of the Year was claimed by Mr. Keeden Isaac with a tie for the runner-up position by Mr. Deano Wason and Mrs. Darlenis Villaroel.
“I am delighted to be a part of this celebration. By utilizing Marriott’s ongoing training, creating experiences and by acting as role models, these associates are now able to develop their careers and really take the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & the Royal Beach Casino to the next level.
