BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS March 3, 2010: Celebrated international Pianist, Robin Colvill will be the main attraction at a gala concert and luncheon supported by the Rotary Club of Liamuiga to help to raise funds for relief efforts in Haiti following a devastating earthquake in January. The event will take place on Sunday March 28th, at the Sugar Bay Club, in Frigate Bay.
Described as one of the busiest and most popular pianists performing in Britain and Europe today, Mr Colvill has performed for members of the Royal family and given numerous recitals at Major concert venues in London.
The concert which starts at 12:30pm will include works by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin and others and will be followed by a buffet luncheon and a complimentary glass of wine.
Director of Community Service, Lee Bailey said, “It was difficult to turn down the invitation to support this event, when we were briefed by Mr Anthony James who is one of the organisers. Our Club is also well known for organizing a number of piano concerts over the last few years and we thought the idea of a Sunday lunchtime concert to be appealing, given the cause.”
A number of other businesses in the Frigate Bay area are to be thanked for their support of this event. Veral Marshall of Diamond Cut will prepare a buffet luncheon which comes with a glass of wine compliments Rams Group of Companies.
To support this event, members of the general public can purchase tickets at EC$100 from members of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga or Mr Anthony James at 465 5853. Tickets are limited, so interested patrons should secure their tickets early.
