BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ON March 14 the South Florida Conference Centre will come alive with the second annual South Florida Dancehall Awards.
This year’s performers include Macka Diamond, Mr.Peppa, Gramps from Morgan Heritage, Stacious, Bruck Up, Red Rat, Timberlee, Mr.Lexx, Ms. Thing, Powerman, Jigsy King, Rising Stars, Wayne Anthony, Zeke Don, T-Swagg, Honorable, Sotto Bless, Kemar, Sizwe C and Baby Vinegar.
According to 876radio, this awards show was established to acknowledge and honour the accomplishments and contributions of artistes and supporters in the arena of Reggae and the Dancehall industry.
Several artistes will be able to take home awards in over 35 different categories, including Best Female Promoter, Best Male Promoter, Best Dressed Female, Best Dressed Male, Best Dancehall Supporter, Female Radio Personality of 2009, Best Male Dancer, Best Female Dancer, Best Male Dance Crew and Best International Artiste.
Some of last year’s proceeds were donated to End-Time Basic School in Kingston, Jamaica and, according to the media house, this year the goal is to sponsor three teens from single family homes. They will each receive a $1 500 scholarship to attend College.
The event is produced by Dominion International Group/Single Mothers of America and is set to be a stellar event.
