Police investigating three shooting incidents

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN addition to the Sunday morning (Feb. 28) shooting death of 17-year-old Jervin Wilson in the vicinity of Lodge Community Centre, police are  investigating three other shooting incidents - two on St. Kitts and one on Nevis.

     

    The first shooting incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 26) at Leonard Dickenson Street, Ponds Pasture, St. Kitts  in the vicinity of the Newtown Primary School.

     

    According to a police release, investigations revealed that Morvel Fahie of Lodge Village was shot at while driving his taxi (TA 122) north along Leonard Dickenson Street.

     

    “Further enquiries revealed that the front windscreen and right door of the said taxi were damaged by what appeared to be bullet penetrations. Dickenson escaped without injury and the vehicle was taken into police custody for processing and was released on Monday 1st March 2010,” the release read.

     

    It also informed that no one was held in relation to this incident but investigations are ongoing.

     

    The second incident occurred at about 3:55 p.m. on the following day at Fiennes Avenue and Fort Thomas Road in Basseterre, St. Kitts.

     

    Investigations revealed that Kegel Phipps of Fort Thomas Road was shot in his right leg while riding a bicycle along Fort Thomas Road. He was taken to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where he was admitted and treated for his wound. Phipps was reported to be in stable condition.

     

    Investigations into this incident are also ongoing.

     

    And on sister isle Nevis, Saish James of Bath Village was shot in his right shoulder at approximately 10:27 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 27). This incident took place at Bailey’s Yard, Cole Hill and James was admitted to the Alexandra Hospital, where police said he was in stable condition.

     

    There are no suspects in police custody but, as it is with the other two shooting incidents, investigations are ongoing.
