Kartel and Ryno to meet with police

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes.com

KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE Gaza boss and his former protégé Blak Ryno are expected to meet with police officers following a number of violent activities since the latter left the camp.

According to 876radio.com, the two men would meet with the Constant Spring Police to iron out their differences that has left homes firebombed, shot up and one man dead.

The report stated that following last year's truce between Kartel and leader of the Gully, Mavado, the police are once again forced to intervene in the now contentious situation spirally out of control between Kartel and Ryno.

That Gully versus Gaza feud spinned from a falling out between Kartel and the head of The Alliance, Bounty Killer, where Killer’s protégé Mavado came in his defence and participated in numerous lyrical battles and tune for tunes with Kartel, which eventually spilled over into violent clashes on the streets among young people.

Last December, Mavado and Kartel ended their three-year long feud giving the Jamaican government a commitment to end it, and also shocked many when they performed together at a staged show.

“It's alleged that the lawmen have threatened to clamp down on all events that the two are booked to appear on,” 876radio.com stated.

The two men have denied being involved with any violent incidents that have occurred since Ryno left the Gaza, but have been making subliminal insults towards each other through various mediums including song and the media.

Following his departure from the Gaza, Ryno released a song titled ‘Mi Leff’, which explained the reason why he quitted the camp, while Popcaan, Kartel’s new protégé who is said to take over the dancehall scene this year, came in defence of his boss and released ‘Dem Sell We Out’.

When asked if he would respond to Ryno’s ‘Mi Leff’, Kartel said that Ryno is not on his level. The Portmore Empire was established in 2007 after Kartel’s departure from the Alliance in 2006. It had consisted of members such as Popcaan, Singa Blinga, Dosa Medicine, Lisa Hype, Shawn Storm, Gaza Indu, Sheba and Jah Vinci.

However, Lisa Hype, now known as Lisa Hyper, and Gaza Kim, now known as Kym, are no longer members of the Gaza and are now pursuing solo careers.
