CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – JULIAN HUGGINS of Hamilton escaped from what could have been a fatal accident on the Island Main Road in the vicinity of the round-a-bout by the Charlestown Cemetery.
Reports are that just before 3:00 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 5), a white Toyota (R 622) collided with a Suzuki Escudo (PA 5069) driven by Huggins. Huggins was taken to the Alexander Hospital by a unit of the Emergency Medical Services, where he was treated for minor bruises to the body and discharged.
According to an eyewitness, the Suzuki Escudo was heading in a southerly direction along the Island Main Road and on reaching the round-a-bout it collided with the Toyota, which approached the round-a-bout from the east.
The collision resulted in the Suzuki Escudo overturning. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
SKNVibes contacted the Head of Nevis Traffic Department, Sergeant James Hazel, who said that investigations were ongoing and the necessary charges would be made.
