Press Release

CADES BAY, Nevis - A beaming, under-15 cricketer, Dillon Claxton, who has been undergoing treatment in Puerto Rico for the past six months after being diagnosed with cancer, arrived in Nevis at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday (Mar. 20) aboard The Sea Bridge in the company of his parents, siblings and relatives.

It was a tearful, yet a joyful moment. Dillon’s mother, relatives, classmates, Pastors Salome James and Cecily Browne, and Lea Parris-Cambridge, founder and Executive Director of Pink Lily, joyfully and tearfully received Dillon.

Weslyan Pastors James and Browne attributed Dillon’s positive response to treatment as an answer to collective prayers by many churches on Nevis. “It is an answer to prayer. It tells us prayer works and we all rejoice along with his parents,” the Pastors said.

Pastor Cecily Browne said, “When we see miracles like this, we know God is in control.

I am giving God thanks. We need to continue in prayer and to fund raise for Dillon.”

According to Dillon’s parents, he is home for a short break and would be resuming his treatment in Puerto Rico, which would cost US$100 000.
