Mikki Taylor & Kevin Powell named keynote speakers for the Caribbean’s Premier Lifestyle Etiquette Workshop 101

    Tortola, British Virgin Islands (March 19, 2010) – Signature by Terry Donovan presents the Caribbean’s primer lifestyle etiquette workshop titled “The Lifestyle Etiquette 101 Workshop, The Complete Guide to A Healthy, Stylish and Fulfilled Life”.

     

    The three day personal image enhancing workshops are scheduled for the week of May 13 -15, 2010 at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in Tortola. Men, women and teens can explore a diverse selection of interactive demonstrations and keynote addresses which will equip attendees with techniques to build self-esteem and increase confidence.

     

    Workshops will focus on the mind, body and soul with a core theme of empowerment weaved throughout topics that cover etiquette, health, wellness, fitness, image transformation and grooming. All lessons are easily applicable for personal day-to-day use in both business and social settings.

     

    The workshop schedule is as follows:

     

    -Thursday, May 13 (5:30PM to 8:30PM) Hairstyling Workshop with Celebrity Hairstylist Tippi Shorter. A leading hairstylist and colorist in the beauty for the past 15 years, provides all of her clients with healthy and stylish hair. Shorter is also a spokesperson for Pantene, Avon and Clairol. Celebrities Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson and KeKe Palmer rely on Shorter as their indispensible hairstylist.

     

    -Friday, May 14 (5:30PM to 8:30PM) Beauty & Skincare Workshop with Celebrity Make-up Artist Ashunta Sheriff. Catering to a devoted A-list cliente including: Ciara, India.Arie,

    -Saturday May 15 (9:30AM to 4:00PM) Lifestyle Etiquette 101 for Men, Women & Teens. Saturday’s workshops will feature three workshops as follows:

     

    -Wardrobe Styling & Social Graces workshop by Mikki Taylor, Beauty & Cover Director from Essence Magazine and founder of Mikki Taylor Enterprises, LLC.

     

    -Self Empowerment keynote address by world renowned motivational speaker, Kevin Powell.

     

    -The New You Wellness Makeover: Your Fitness, Your Health, Your Life workshop by NY Top Fitness trainer, Robert Brace.

     

    Attendees will also have a chance to attend the Meet & Greet with our featured speakers and get photo opportunities.

     

    Mikki Taylor, in her role as Beauty and Cover Director at the nation’s premier lifestyle publication for women of color, addresses the beauty needs of over eight million readers first-hand on a monthly basis. For 30 years, Taylor has been guiding and instructing women on the pages of Essence Magazine, the internationally recognized, premier source of beauty intelligence for African-American women. Her newest entrepreneurial venture - Mikki Taylor Enterprises, LLC will serve as a holding company for a number of vertical businesses, one of which is a full-service image building and consultancy servicing both men and women.

     

    Kevin Powell (www.kevinpowell.net) is an activist, writer, entrepreneur and most recently, a 2008 Democratic candidate for Congress in Brooklyn, New York. Powell is a prolific author who has to date published ten books including his new title, Open Letters to America (Soft Skull Press).

     

    A fixture on the pop culture landscape the past several years, Powell was a cast member on the first season of MTV’s “The Real World”. A product of extreme poverty, welfare, fatherlessness, and a single mother-led household, he is a native of Jersey City, New Jersey and was educated at New Jersey’s Rutgers University.
