BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JAMIACAN artiste Bounty Killer, known for his famous words - “cross, angry miserable” - was arrested yesterday morning (Apr. 5) for occasioning bodily harm on a female.
The incident took place in early March and it is alleged that the young woman, who was his girlfriend, decided to end a three-year relationship they shared.
According to 876radio, it was further alleged that when she broke the news to Bounty Killer he became irate and physically attacked her. The level of injury sustained by the woman has still not been ascertained.
As standard procedure, all detainees are entitled to one phone call. The lawmen said that Bounty Killer used the opportunity to call the complainant in their presence and made further threats on her life. He was denied station bail and is scheduled to appear before the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate Court tomorrow (Apr. 7).
This is not the first time that the artiste has been charged for assaulting a woman. In July 2009 he was arrested and charged for beating a pregnant woman.
He is known to have had several run-ins with the law and he currently has other matters pending before the court.
Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Pryce, is also popularly known as the ‘War Lord’ and heads the Alliance crew. Some of his past hits include ‘Poor People Fed up’, ‘Down in the Ghetto’, ‘Babylon System’ and ‘Mama’.
