Horsfords re-affirms commitment to sports

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - S.L. Horsford & Co. Ltd continues to show it’s commitment to social and youth development through sports. During an informal handing over ceremony the Horsford’s Group of  Companies presented a check to the Ghetto Roots Basketball Club, an organization Horsford’s has sponsored over the past 10 years.

     

    The Horsford’s Group was represented by Mr.Wallis Wilkin while the Ghetto Roots Club was represented by Head Coach Dr. Garfeild Alexander, Club Treasurer Clive “Naba” Collins, Club Assistant Manager/Coach Dwayne Sturge and club “A” Team Captain Montraville Pemberton.

     

    The Ghetto Roots and Horsford’s have enjoyed a cordial and mutually beneficial relationship over the past 10 years. During this period Ghetto Roots has won the Premeir and Junior Division titles on multiple occasions including last years exciting and convincing clean sweep victory over the Rams Hitters in the SKABA League finals to win the Championship for the 6th time in Club history. Only one other club has won more titles.
     
    “The Horsford’s Group of Companies has always shown a commitment to youth development through sports and this most recent contribution to the Ghetto Roots Basketball Club exemplifies this commitment,” said Wallis Wilkin of the Horsfords Group of Companies. “We will continue to make such contributions to the development of sports as we feel that sports development will ultimately lead to positive youth and social development,” Mr. Wilkin continued.
     
    The Ghetto Roots Premiere  team is expected to mount and begin a stoic defense of the SKABA National Championship title on Sunday April 11th which marks the beginning of the St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association League.

     

    The Ghetto Roots Club this year features three teams which will participate in the Premiere, “A”  and Female Division games.
