United Nations Unifem invites Masud Sadiki to Barbados for a two-day consultation

    BRIDGETOWN, Barbados - Kittitian conscious Reggae star Masud Sadiki, will be travelling to Barbados this evening (Monday 12th April 2010) to join forces with other top Caribbean artists in a two-day consultation dubbed “Caribbean Artistes UNiTE to End Violence against Women”.

     

    These sessions will be held tomorrow Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th April 2010.
    During the first day of the consultation, Masud and his fellow artistes will be briefed on the Secretary General’s campaign as well as

     

    UNIFEM’s work to end violence against women.  Another objective is to gain the artistes’ expertise to generate ideas about creative tools and activities that can be used to promote ending violence against women through the campaign.

     

    The second day will be used to film public service announcements (PSAs) that will be used to raise public awareness throughout the region.

     

    Some of the other artistes participating in the consultation are David Rudder, Allison Hinds, Destra Garcia, Claudette Peters, Patrice Roberts, Edwin Yearwood and Nelly Star.

     

    Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis and Dominica are the countries that will be represented.
