Butlers resident shot in arm

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – APPROXIMATELY 22 hours after Shaheed Williams of St. Paul’s Village was shot in Newton Ground, St. Kitts, a young man on sister isle Nevis is nursing a bullet wound at the Alexandra Hospital.

     

    A release reaching SKNVibes indicated that 21-year-old Mwarima Wilkes of Butlers Village was shot last night (Apr. 17) in his upper right arm and is in stable condition at the hospital.

     

    It further informed that officers from the New Castle Police Station and members of the Nevis’ Task Force had responded to a report of the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the village where Wilkes reside, but no one was held responsible for shooting him.

     

    Police however noted that investigations are ongoing.

     

    On Friday night (Apr. 16) between 9:00 and 9:45, officers at the Sandy Point Police Station responded to a shooting incident that occurred in Newton Ground and found that Shaheed Williams of St. Paul’s Village was shot in the vicinity of Island Purified Water.

     

    The Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, said that investigations led to police acquiring the name of a suspect whom they are currently in search of. However, at press time, no word was received of the suspect’s apprehension.

     

    Investigations into this shooting incident are also ongoing.
