Basseterre, St. Kitts - The National Association of Administrative Professionals of St Kitts and Nevis will this year again recognize and celebrate the accomplishments, the work, the dedication and the importance of the Administrative Professional to any business entity. The Association will celebrate International Administrative Professionals Day with a Week of activities that will be observed from 18 – 24 April 2010 and will run one day into the following week on 27 April 2010.
Chairperson of the AP Week Committee and Vice President of the Association, Ms Acklyn Blaize said that she is pleased with the preparations that her Committee has been able to deliver thus far, and is still appealing to the public and private business entities to register their Admin Professionals for the one day seminar.
She stated that “the week will see the annual seminar and dinner, but the important factor for this year, is the inclusion of students into the programme. Ms Blaize stressed that it is important that young persons entering or contemplating on that career path be given the initial guidance as to what the profession entails. An Administrative Professional functioning in 2010 is no longer just a “secretary”, but he or she is an office manager and a right hand to the boss.”
Ms Blaize continued that “Administrative Professionals Week was Declared Open by the Honorable Marcella Liburd, who is also an Honourary Member of the Association. Other events include a Church Service held on Sunday, 18 April 2010 at the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle, Cayon, which was also attended by the Honorable Marcella Liburd. Coming up this week are the Senior Administrative Professionals Seminar on Tuesday, 20 April 2010 at the St Kitts Marriott and the Executives and AP Dinner on Wednesday, 21 April 2010 at the Ocean Terrace Inn. The Association will also host a community service project and conduct a Students Seminar on Tuesday, 27 April 2010.”
The Association would like the support of both the private and public sector in these events. Registration for the Senior Seminar as well as the Students Seminar is still open, and interested persons can contact members for information. Tickets for the annual dinner are also still available on sale.
