BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER the launch of his first movie ‘Hurry Dog Eat Raw Corn’ in December 2009, Moses Byron has shown it in several schools and community centers in the Federation and so far the feedback has been positive.
On Friday (Apr. 30), the local playwright will move further into promoting his movie, as it will be shown in Tortola at Up’s Cineplex at three different time slots. It will again be shown at the same venue on the following Sunday.
Admission will be $5 for children and $10 for adults. According to Byron, a number of persons assisted him in getting the movie to be shown at the Cineplex in Tortola and he has contacted a number of schools to have the students come out and see it.
‘Hurry Dog Eat Raw Corn’ deals with rebelliousness and impatient young people who are being too quick to experience many things before attaining the required age.
Rae-Dawn Thomas plays the leading role of a 14-year-old disobedient girl who ends up regretting some of her decisions. Other members of the cast include Ashanta Williams and Dion Browne.
Byron said, “So far, the movie has been doing great and many people have been praising the effort of the actors and actresses.”
He said many people also think that the movie is a timely one and carries a good message to the young people in particular.
Byron has hopes of promoting the movie in St. Martin next.
