Former star athlete in need of help

Former athlete Lydia Jacobs-Pemberton needs financial assistance for a costly operation
Nevis Sports Page

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - Former star athlete on Nevis, Lydia Jacobs-Pemberton is presently in need of financial assistance which would help in alleviating cost for an urgently required operation to deal with kidney complications.

Lydia was a former champion sprinter at the Charlestown Secondary School and majored in events ranging from the 100 meters up to the 400 meters.

President of the Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (NAAA), Mr. Lester Blackette, fondly remembers her as an outstanding athlete who represented Nevis in inter island meets in St. Kitts and also represented Nevis at Leeward Islands meets.

According to information received from family members, the proposed operation will be conducted in Cuba and even though she is expecting assistance from the Nevis Island Administration, the overall cost of the operation and related expenses will be extremely high.

In light of this an appeal is being made to members of the general public to as far as possible, make contributions towards the recovery efforts of the beautiful Nevisian lass.

Persons interested in making contributions can contact Mr. Eli James at telephone number 664-9739 or Ms Imelda Grant at telephone number 665-0218.

Members of the general public are kindly asked to give generously as the past athlete goes through her moment of crisis.
