Man shot in McKnight

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man was this morning shot in McKnight and is reportedly in stable condition at the Joseph N France General Hospital.

     

    Reports reaching SKNVibes state that 24-year-old Kirk ‘Scotty’ Hobson of Stapleton Village  and also of  McKnight was shot shortly after 1:00 a.m. today (Apr. 24) between West Bourne Ghaut and Durant Avenue, McKnight, Basseterre.

     

    This incident was confirmed by the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, and also the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) with responsibility for Crime, Joseph Liburd.

     

    This media house learnt that immediately after the shooting incident, Hobson was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is in the Intensive Care Unit in serious but stable condition.

     

    Inspector Henderson said that members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Anti-Gang Unit and the Special Service Unit (SSU) responded to a report of shooting and investigations revealed that Hobson was shot in the abdomen while engaged in a shootout with two other men.

     

    He also said that a number of spent shells were found at the scene and police took them for analysis. And ACP Liburd informed that one man is in custody assisting police with their investigations into the matter.
