BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS the Maurice Hiller Memorial Junior School gets ready to celebrate its 10th anniversary of “No TV Week”, 10 students are also preparing for the annual Rainbow Pageant to be held on Thursday, May 13.
This year’s celebrations, commencing on May 9 and concluding on May 14, are being held under the theme “Fight Overweight and Obesity”.
The 10 students, five boys and five girls who will be representing Grades One to Five, are: Sapphire Matthew and Najan Sargeant of Grade One; Althea Jean and Jaylen Leader of Grade Two; Zeyante Caesar and Stevan Francis of Grade Three; Dahneira Sutton and Keiran Lake of Grade Four; and SyneJa Richards and Xaviee Pennyfeather of Grade Five.
The Rainbow Pageant is scheduled for Carnival Village at 7:00 p.m., where the children would take part in the Productive Number and four other judged segments. Those segments are Getting To Know Me, Expressive Number, Creative Wear and Afternoon Delight.
Last year Jahmihk Gumbs and Geawn Forbes of Grade Four gave a scintillating display of talent and confidence and were adjudged the 2009 Prince and Princess.
