Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 10, 2006: As "Miracle Mission" draws to a close, residents who benefited from the Cuban eye care programme are asked to visit the Eye Clinic at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.
As such, all patients who received eye surgery in Cuba from August 2005 to April 2006 are requested to visit the general hospital's eye clinic before May 19 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The doctors there will advise of the next steps to be taken on an individual basis.
Additionally, first time patients who have been referred to Cuba for medical attention are asked to confirm their travel dates since the last flight for such departs June 07, 2006.
Presently, by means of the Miracle Mission programme, 24 of our residents are scheduled to depart for Cuba, today. Patients scheduled for future travel are advised to keep to their departure dates considering that if they do not show up, it would have been an opportunity lost for free eye care.
