BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- ‘WHERE IS THE LOVE’ is the question local singer Minster LK is asking in his new single, which was released last week along with its music video.

According to Minster LK, whose real name is Jervin Vantapool, his song focuses on nations that are hurting, especially Haiti.

He said for years Haiti has been in need of help and nobody reached out a helping hand, but only after the devastating earthquake people decided to do so because it had made world news. “I think a lot of businesses took it as a marketing strategy,” Vantapool said.

“Other nations out there are hurting as well. But after all the media coverage and all the added attention have gone, will we still direct attention to them? This is why I am asking in my song, where is the love?” he added.

The song also features his sister Drulicia Vanterpool, better known as JV, who also helped to pen the song, and a young man name Scotty. The video was shot by Tru Capo Productions and features footage of Haiti after the devastating earthquake. The song was recorded at Yard Tune Production studio in Cayon.

Where Is The Love paints a sad picture and brings about emotions of crying, as the artistes on the track tells of things people deal with in their everyday life like hunger, killings and abuse.

LK said that he hopes the song would open people’s eyes to reach out to others and to show others that we are better off than many countries, and we need to give thanks and stop focusing on blaming the polititians for everything.

Copies of the single are available for sale at $10. Meanwhile, the artiste will also be promoting the single by selling T-shirts with the title of the song boldly written at the front.

He said 20 percent of the sales from each T-shirt would be donated locally to assist with school supplies for children in need, and the first 20 persons to purchase the shirts would receive a free copy of the single.

“I decided to do this as a means to help out people in need, as the song speaks of. Too often we look to the government for everything when we ourselves could do something to help,” he said.
