BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE names of six contestants who will be vying for this year’s 2010 Miss Green Valley title have been revealed.
The six beauties are Raisa Wattley, Ivanka James, Kristal Duncan, Kishuna Jederon, Shekeema Williams and Mahseeka Matthew.
The competition will be held at the Festival Village on Friday, May 21 and the contestants will make four appearances – Fanfare; Introductory Speech, which has to be based on an entertainer within the community; Performing Talent; and Cultural Wear. Each segment will be judged except for the Fanfare, which will be the ladies first appearance onstage to break the ice.
According to Janelle O’loughlin of the Pageant Committee, the contestants have been socialising and would be involved in a number of activities to promote the show.
One such activity is their appearance on PEP TV the Wednesday before the big night.
This year’s Junior Calypso Competition will be added to the Miss Green Valley Pageant, where a number of them will be challenging King Leo for his crown.
Last year Natasha Benjamin was crowned Miss Green Valley, followed by Anthea Morris and Shaday Peters in that order.
