Road Town, Tortola -  The Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Julian Fraser RA is extending a Territory-wide invitation to Sunday’s opening ceremony for the ICT Roadshow to be held at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College’s Auditorium at 3pm.

Minister Fraser said that he is extremely delighted that his ministry is hosting this historic event and wishes to extend an opportunity to the people of the BVI to come out and support the opening ceremony.

The ICT Roadshow is on its eighth regional stop in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) and is being held locally under the theme, “Promoting safe and efficient technology in the BVI”.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr. Julian Willock, added that the opening ceremony promises to be one of innovation. “As this is a roadshow about technology, the very essence of the ceremony will surround the technology theme.”

Sunday’s programme will include remarks from the Governor Mr. David Pearey, the Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE, Minister Fraser RA, Secretary General of the CTU, Ms. Bernadette Lewis, Roadshow endorsements from the Territory’s telecommunications service providers, among others.

The Roadshow is designed to raise awareness locally and regionally of the innovative approaches possible and necessary for the effective application of Information and Communication Technology in government, business and social development.
