BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOOTBALL fans have been told to expect an all around entertainment experience at this year’s Final Four playoffs, which begin tomorrow (May 15) at 8 p.m.

“This year, the association has put in quite a lot of work in trying to ensure that the Final Four is not just a series of football matches, but an event that you can look forward to and bring your entire family,” St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) President Anthony Johnson said at a press conference this week to launch the Final Four playoffs.

This year will mark the second hosting of the Digicel Premier League playoffs under Johnson’s administration, and he promised many new additions that would add to the fan experience, including a party stand.

“This year, Carib Breweries have come onboard with us for the first time in a very long time. In a sense, their involvement will be that they will be hosting an exclusive party stand that will allow for patrons to engage in not only watching the matches, but also having a great time,” he stated.

For a price of EC $50 per match night, patrons of the Carib Breweries Party Stand will receive unlimited drinks and snacks and will have a chance to revel in the football atmosphere for an hour and a half before and after the games. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Carib Breweries.

Additionally, many businesses have partnered with the SKNFA to set up corporate tents on the eastern side of Warner Park so their employees and valued customers can enjoy the matches together in a festive atmosphere.

League sponsor Digicel has also provided a number of exciting new elements for this year’s competition. In addition to the always exciting Kick for Cash, the sponsors will also be rolling out a number of promotions to fans and cash prizes to the top players of the Final Four.

A scoreboard is also scheduled to be erected for the matches thanks to a donation of all of the building materials by TDC.

“That is something that we can look forward to. When the patrons come to the park you can actually look and see the official score, rather than having to rely on information from persons who had been there before you because sometimes the information you get might not be accurate,” Johnson said.

Though names were not released, the SKNFA has reportedly been in close contact with a number of local entertainers that can provide excitement during halftime and between matches.

Ticket prices for the matches were also announced at the press conference. For evenings with a single match, bleacher seating will be EC $15 and pavilion seating will be EC $20. For the doubleheader matches, bleacher seating will be EC $20 and pavilion seating will be EC $25.

The SKNFA has also moved to offer season passes for the 2010 Final Four.

“Season tickets cost as little as EC $80 for the bleachers and EC $120 for the stands. That takes you from the first match on the 15th of May right down to the last game on the 2nd of June if necessary. We believe that is extremely attractive because you would be saving as much as, in each case, EC $60,” the football chief stated.

The action kicks off tomorrow evening when the number one seeded TDC Newtown United F.C. takes on first-timer Coury Gatorade Conaree F.C. Then on Sunday night (May 16) reigning champion S. L. Horsford’s St. Pauls United F.C. will face St. Peters F.C. at 7 p.m. at Warner Park.
