BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man narrowly escaped the wrath of three brazen gunmen shortly after 10:30 this morning (May 18) in the vicinity of Mad House Alley in Newtown, Basseterre.
On arrival at the scene, SKNVibes observed the presence of a number of officers from the Anti-Gang Unit and the Criminal Investigation Department combing the area.
One of the officers told this media house that the police had received a report at 10:45 a.m. about a shooting in Mad House Alley. The officer informed that no one was injured and there were no visible damage to property in the area. He however stated that a number of spent shells were found on the roadway.
SKNVibes learnt that while a young man was seated under a mango tree in an empty lot at the corner of Roxorough Street and Mad House Alley, three armed masked men entered Roxorough Street from Pond Road and started shooting at him.
The young man ran and jumped over the eastern concrete fence of the yard as the gunmen continue to shoot at him while on Mad House Alley. Fortunately, as one onlooker stated, “He was too fast for them…he narrowly escaped to see another day.”
Police investigations are ongoing.
