CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A motorcade comprising of Winfest Committee members and residents of St. James Parish drove around the island last Saturday afternoon to advertise the upcoming festival, which commences today (May 20) and ends on Monday, May 24.
The theme for this year’s festival is “Peace and love for sure, WINFEST turns four”.
The activities start this evening from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. at Candy Shop Bar, where patrons will be entertained by the Judgment Sound System, while the official launch of the event and Calypso Show will be held tomorrow at Dix Bar from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.
Drag Races will be held on Sunday (May 23) with contestants coming from Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and host island Nevis. Following the races, the action will continue at the Brick Klin Hard Court with entertainment by models and Small Axe Band, and Bingo games will also be played.
Small Axe Band will entertain attendees until the wee hours of Monday (May 24), after which the Oddissi Band will take over with the J’Ouvert morning jump up commencing from 5:00 a.m. at the Brick Klin Hard Court and concluding at Herbert Beach.
