BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH a total of 434 points, Ivanka James won the judges’ nod last night (May 21) at the Festival Complex in Cayon and was crowned the 2010 Miss Green Valley.

Shekeema Williams was adjudged First Runner-up with 402 points while Mahseeka Matthew settled for the Second Runner-up position with 378.

James took the Best Talent segment with a drama and dance, urging young people to head for victory lane and stay away from violence and crime. She also won the prize for Best Introductory Speech.

The other contestants were Raisa Wattley, who was awarded Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Best Africa Wear; Kristal Duncan and Kishuna Jederon.

The Emcee for the show was ‘Cuttoe’, who kept the crowd fully entertained throughout the night as he donned various outfits and took part in the different segments as well. His Talent portion of the show had the crowd laughing and cheering, as he gyrated across the stage and lifted one leg in the air while moving to the sounds of the Grand Masters Band.

Cuttoe was definitely the highlight of the show, as the entertainment did not stop there for him. In the final segment, he modelled his way across the stage in a white dress, wig and red pumps, which left the audience screaming and snapping their cameras.

Only four calypsonians competed for the Junior Calypso crown, as defending champion Calypso Leo drop out at the last minute.

Nevertheless, the smallest of the competitors, Lord Scribbles, took the crown with 203 points singing ‘One People’, Mighty Sarni copped the First Runner-up position with 191 points singing ‘Where Do We Go From Here’.
