BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST some 16 hours after a young man was hospitalised from a shooting incident in Newtown, two men were apprehended last night (May 25) following a shooting in McKnight.
Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that about 8:00 p.m. police responded to a shooting in the vicinity of Shaw Avenue in McKnight and, following investigations, two young men were taken into custody at the Basseterre Police Station assisting the officers with their investigation into the matter.
According to the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, no one was reportedly injured in the shooting incident.
Meanwhile, SKNVibes learnt that Shamon Herbert of Mad House Alley, who was shot multiple times to the body at approximately 3:32 a.m.yesterday, is reported to be in critical but stable condition at the Joseph N France General Hospital.
Inspector Henderson told this media house yesterday that no suspect was held for the shooting of the 23-year-old Herbert at that time but investigations were ongoing.
Information reaching this media outlet indicated that Herbert was shot in both legs, once in the region of his chest, once in the abdomen and a bullet grazed his forehead.
While rumours are rife that Herbert’s shooting may be related to another incident that took place last week Tuesday (May 18) at approximately 10:30 a.m. in Mad House Alley, a source close to the police said they are uncertain.
It was reported that while a young man was seated under a mango tree in an empty lot at the corner of Roxorough Street and Mad House Alley, three armed masked men entered Roxorough Street from Pond Road and started shooting at him. He however managed to escape.
Police informed that no one was injured and there were no visible damage to property in the area. However, a number of spent shells were found on the roadway.
