KINGSTON, Jamaica - VOICEMAIL singer Oneil Edwards, who was shot multiple times, succumbed to his injuries yesterday (May 26) after fighting for his life for over two weeks.
Two days after celebrating his 36th birthday on May 8, Edwards was ambushed and shot repeatedly as he attempted to open his gate after returning to his Belloc Avenue home in Duhaney Park at about 1:00 a.m.
Reports are that two gunmen were seen running away from the scene, and several other reports indicated that he was shot at least five times.
According to 876Radio.com, some days after the incident, one of the main suspects was found dead and Edward’s cell phone was found on him, and police arrested the other suspect.
The group, Voicemail is made up of two other members Craig Jackson and Kevin Blaire.
The dancehall trio, Voicemail, had once performed in St. Kitts at Warner Park. They are known for their creative dance moves as well as a number of hit singles, including ‘Do What You Feel Like’, ‘Dance The Night Away’, ‘Let’s Dance’ and ‘Get Crazy’.
