By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RANDY BROWNE, the man who was held in connection with a gun/ammunition find on Wednesday, May 19, is on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison awaiting the commencement of his trial.

On May 19, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office reported that the Nevis Task Force executed a search warrant on the Craddock Road residence of Judy Browne-Claxton and one 32 gauge shotgun, one 12 gauge round of ammunition and 81x9mm rounds of ammunition were discovered.

The items were reportedly discovered in a bedroom occupied by Randy Browne.  Both residents were taken into police custody in relation to the find. The female, however, was subsequently released while the male was charged with possession of ammunition and possession of a firearm.

Police in Nevis have informed that, after being charged, the man was taken to Her Majesty’s Prison.

Browne is expected to be given the opportunity to have his case tried summarily (before the Federation’s Magistrate’s Court) or before the Federation’s High Court.

The gun found at Judy Browne-Claxton’s premises was the 24th to be removed from the Federation’s streets by the security forces. These successes, according to the police top brass, are as a result of the strengthened partnership between the police and the public.

The police hierarchy has extended thanks to the public for its assistance in this regard.
